Ingredients
1 teaspoon matcha powder (preferably ceremonial grade)
2 tablespoons hot (not boiling) water
1 cup milk of choice (almond, oat, coconut, or dairy)
1–2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Sift the matcha powder into a mug or small bowl to remove any clumps.
Step 2
Add the hot water and whisk using a bamboo matcha whisk (chasen) or a small milk frother until the matcha is fully dissolved and slightly frothy.
Step 3
Heat your milk in a small saucepan or using a frother until warm but not boiling.
Step 4
Pour the warm milk into the matcha mixture and stir gently.
Step 5
Add maple syrup or honey to taste, if desired.
Step 6
